Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso, with the full name of Pablo Diego Jose Santiago Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Crispín Crispiniano de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santisima Trinidad Ruiz Picasso, is considered by many as the most celebrated artist of the 20th century. Picasso was born on October 25, 1881 in Plaza de la Merced, Malaga, Spain. However, much of his life is spent living in France. His parents were Jose Ruiz y Blasco (a local painter and curator) and Maria Picasso y Lopez.
Pablo Picasso does extremely well in art especially in stage design, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and etching. He introduced the world famous art form, the Cubism, along with esteemed colleague Georges Braque in 1907. Aside from using ink in his works, Picasso also utilizes watercolor, charcoal, and oil.
Pablo Picasso's art forms were simply classified into five periods. These include the Blue Period of 1901-1904, Rose Period of 1905-1907, African-influenced Period of 1908-1909, Analytic Cubism of 1909-1912, and the Synthetic Cubism of 1912-1919.
Guernica, which depicts the Axis bombing of Guernica, Spain, is the most famous work of Pablo Picasso. The painting portrays the World War Two's gruesome effect on the lives of the people. This canvass has been he's representation of pacifism. At present, this paining is in Madrid's Reina Sofia Museum.
Pablo Picasso is also a victim of male machismo. During his lifetime, he had at least six wives and female companions. Some of them include Dora Maar, Olga Khoklova, Marie-Therese Walter, Francoise Gilot, Genevieve Laporte, and Jacqueline Roque.
Some of Pablo Picasso's most prominent art works are the Course de taureaux et colombes, Profil droit de vieil home, Lola Picasso, sur de l'artiste, Autoportrait mal coiffe, Couple espagnol devant une auberge, Femmes au cafe, Carnaval, Sebastianus III Konig (Portrait de Sebastia Junyer-Vidal), and the Le cloitre de la cathedrale.
